Abstract

The need for new and better products with specific final properties has led to the development of new polymers, which require the addition of compatibilizing agents having enough reactive functional groups capable of reducing the interfacial energy, increasing the adhesion and dispersion during mixing. In this sense, the reactions between anhydrides and amines are of particular interest due to its high reactivity toward various functionalities. Therefore the aim of this work was to synthesize a compatibilizer by amination reaction between a structurally modified polyethylene maleic anhydride (PEZr-g- MAH) and 4-aminopyridine (4-Ampy).
