STRUCTURAL AND MAGNETIC CHARACTERIZATION OF THE CdGaCrSe4 COMPOUND
Abstract
The CdGaCrSe4 compound belonging to the II III2 VI4 family shows interesting magnetic and transport properties for the construction of magnetic devices. The sample was synthesized by direct fusion of the constituent elements in stoichiometric proportions in a sealed quartz capsule and heated to 925 °C. The growth was carried out by chemical transport in the vapor phase, under a Selenium atmosphere, the loading and deposition temperatures were 800 °C and 750 °C respectively, CrCl3 was used as a transporting agent, the growth time was 20 days. The recording of the X-ray diffraction pattern in a polycrystalline sample was carried out in a Siemens D5005 diffractometer, operating at 30 Kv and 15 mA, with a graphite divergent beam monochromator (Cu Ka = 1.54056 (Å). In a configuration geometric θ / 2θ in the range (10- 100°) with a step 0.020o and a count time of 35s / step. Indexing and refinement indicates that it crystallizes in a Rhombohedral symmetry belonging to Space Group P-31c, with cell parameters a = 3.6088 (6) Å and c = 40.5574 (1) Å. The magnetic characterization of Magnetization (ZFC and FC) and Susceptibility (χAC) showed a ferrimagnetic behavior at a transition temperature T = 124.07 K, with a μeffective = 3.05μB and a Reentrant process at temperatures below 95 K.Downloads
