EFECTOS SUPERFICIALES DEL BRUÑIDO POR RODILLO EN EL ACERO AISI 1045
Abstract
Single roller burnishing is a plastic deformation process which improves surface quality and some mechanical properties of materials. An experimental study in AISI 1045 steel axisimetrical pieces is performed in a conventional parallel lathe with a burnishing roller tool fabricated for this experimentation. The process variables used, are those considered as the most important: compressive force, feed and number of passes of the burnishing tool. Statistical equations describing the effect of the process variables on hardness, surface quality and external diameter increments are processed by StatGraphics®Plus v.4.1. From the estimated surface responses, shown in contour isolines of hardness and surface quality increments, a combined graph is produced, where the compressive force and feed combinations are easy to locate for obtaining the targeted burnishing results.Downloads
