Abstract

The objective of this work was the optimization of an acid digestion method to determine trace elements in the PP. This optimization is affected by the hardness of PP, derived from its crystalline nature resulting from its isotactic character. As part of the optimization process, PP samples were spiked at different concentrations of titanium, aluminum and magnesium. We compared the acid digestion methods for the determination of these elements in PP using the technique of optical emission spectrometry with inductively coupled plasma (ICP-OES).
