Hydrogels have become one of the most versatile materials, because new agents may be incorporated in its structures and providing specific characteristics, which produce different kinds of gels (copolymers, terpolymers, semi-interpenetrating, double network, hybrid, etc.), which have applications in the agriculture, biomedicine and environment. Due to the importance of these materials in the following work is presented the study of their absorption properties, interactions and microstructure, by using the analytical techniques of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy ((FTIR), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Microscopy: Optical (OM), Scanning Electron (SEM) and Transmission Electron (TEM), with the approach of investigating the potential of these techniques to show the different aspects involving hydrogels and their applications.Downloads
