This study aims to is to evaluate the efficiency of conductive coatings on an insulating substrate, such as Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS), for shielding and dissipation of the static charge. This way the coatings were characterized by the chemical composition of the mixture between Polyaniline (PAni/DBSA) and acrylic resin, to analyze if there were reactions that resulted in new chemical bonds. The distribution of polyaniline fibers and the roughness of the coatings were evaluated to verify if these characteristics influence the conductivity. Conductivity measurements were carried out at four points and the influence of the degradation on the conductance of these coatings was evaluated. With the results obtained it is possible to indicate that conductive coatings, as PAni/DBSA for shielding and dissipation of the static charge of non-conductive materials.Downloads
