FACTORES QUE INTERVIENEN EN LA DISTRIBUCIÓN DE ARCILLA ENTRE LAS FASES DE MEZCLAS POLIESTIRENO/POLIBUTADIENO
Abstract
Blends of polystyrene (PS) and polybutadiene (PB) with commercially modified clays and styrene (St) as solvent were prepared. The influence of thermodynamic and kinetic factors on the distribution of the clay between the phases, were investigated. Specifically, factors such as: the type of organic modifier of the clay, the order in the addition of the components and composition of the polymer blends were studied. Both, spontaneous phase separation of mixtures and the induced way by centrifugation, was performed. In the second case, the distribution of the clay was determined gravimetrically by calcination of the phases. The composition of the mixtures affected the phase separation and the partition of the clay. The stability of the blends and the coexistence of PS, PB and clay in some phases suggest a compatibilizing effect because of the filler.Downloads
